"Ropes" and "Fire School" Pictures
One of the first activities we did at Outward Bound was an orienteering course. Should be pretty easy...just head South!
This was a team building problem where small groups had to get everybody across stumps with a limited amount of boards...without falling into the deadly ice crevasses!
There is little water at the South Pole so everyone has to learn to extinguish fires with dry chemical powder...and it takes a lot!
All dressed up and planning for battle against a burning building.
This old tanker car is a great simulator for rescuing victims from a plane’s fuselage in the event of a crash.
A group picture in front of a C-130 Hercules. The Air National Guard showed us where everything is on this Herc in the event of an emergency. In Antarctica, these planes will be equipped with skis.
